Product Description

Mommy's Helper Safe-Lok Cabinet and Drawer Lock Ouch! And your child starts crying. We all know children like to explore places, but when a little finger gets pinched in a drawer there's trouble. You can now prevent this with the Safe-Lok Cabinet and Drawer Lock by Mommy's Helper. This patented cabinet and drawer lock prevents children from getting into places that they shouldn't - such as the silverware/knives drawer - and keeps their fingers from getting smashed. A patented design allows the cabinet or drawer to open 1 inch and locks it there, so that little hands can't get slammed in between. Easy to install and very practical.

  • Allows cabinets and drawers to open only 1?
  • Prevents cabinets and drawers from reclosing on little fingers
  • Easy installation
  • Contains 6 locks

3.0 out of 5 stars Works well on cabinets; drawers, not so much, August 17, 2010

For cabinets these work as advertised, however they won't work for any of the drawers in my home. Depending on the geometry of your drawers, you may find the same thing. I have an IKEA dresser where the drawers go in flush such that if you put the trap piece as pictured on the package, the drawer won't close. If you put it somewhere far enough in that the drawer does close, there's not enough room to put your finger in to open the safety lock! In effect, if you want a drawer to be able to close, subtract double the thickness of the front of the drawer from the length of the lock, and that's what you have left to squeeze your finger in. You'd need a baby-size finger to work it! I have another dresser with a top lip that overhangs the uppermost drawer, which also doesn't leave enough room to operate the lock.

The design would work on just about any drawer *if* it were available in different lengths (or the length was adjustable), but it isn't. Caveat Emptor.

I liked these locks. They were easy to install and worked well. I had tried several other brands, and found they were a pain to install and my son could open up the cabinets! These finally worked.

5.0 out of 5 stars It Works!, April 6, 2008

This is the best Cabinet and Drawer Lock I have found, others fall apart this one is very sturdy. The removable latch feature is also a real help when the little one is not in the kitchen and you need to put away a lot of dishes.
