It's not fancy; it's a heavy gauge sheet metal box with a decent quality brass lock. It lacks the features you'd find on much more expensive wall boxes, some of which might seriously effect the security of the box, but the lock is good quality, the hinges are enclosed and protected, and the box is generally of decent build quality. The lock is a key lock, which is mildly annoying, but that's clear from the product description, and some folks prefer them, right? Enough space for passports, cash and credit cards to keep them out of reach.I didn't like the screws that came with it, in older lumber you would need to pre-drill the hole. As mentioned by other owners, don't use the screws, it's a piece of junk!!! I stripped mine halfway and had a hard time unscrewing it. The only thing I don't like but can live with it is that, you can't remove the key when in open position, I placed mine high enough so kids can't see and reach them but I want it open when I'm home for easy access on my pistol when I need it. |
