I brought home a Sentry 10-gun combination safe for $320 from a store whose logo is 3 white letters on a red quadrangle and installed it this weekend. The cheaper-than-plywood, OSB shelf is so flimsy it was bowed by its own weight. I re-enforced it by screwing a piece if 1/2" EMT to the bottom. The handle stands out from the door about 1/4" too far to open 90 degrees if the safe is mounted with the right side against the wall. The interference was minor so it sits in a right-hand corner anyhow. It's just a shade over 200 pounds so it was easy to maneuver on a carpeted floor. I chose to anchor it to the floor and wall. Neither of the two factory-made holes in the back matched my studs but drilling a custom hole was an easy job for a 9.6V battery drill. The same drill and a reciprocating saw could open this safe in roughly 5 minutes but it's enough to thwart a typical smash-n-grab.

This safe is pretty good and has tons of room. I will definitely recommend it. It's pretty heavy, so you should be sure you take care of the delivery guys when it arrive.

I purchased this product along with its bigger brother: Stack-On IWC-22 Mid-Sized In-Wall Cabinet; this review applies to both, as they are identical except for height.

The wall box is exactly as described. It's not fancy; it's a heavy gauge sheet metal box with a decent quality brass lock. It lacks the features you'd find on much more expensive wall boxes, some of which might seriously effect the security of the box, but the lock is good quality, the hinges are enclosed and protected, and the box is generally of decent build quality. The lock is a key lock, which is mildly annoying, but that's clear from the product description, and some folks prefer them, right? I have two of these hidden behind things in my home on Roatan and have just installed this one in a condo in Florida. Enough space for passports, cash and credit cards to keep them out of reach.

I didn't like the screws that came with it, in older lumber you would need to pre-drill the hole. I stripped the head before I found that out but replaced them with 1/8" lag bolts that were easier to drive with a socket and ratchet.

As the item said it's a pistol cabinet, perfect for it's application, it can hide your gun out of reach of the children and if you can find a good location it can hide your valuables from thieves. As mentioned by other owners, don't use the screws, it's a piece of junk!!! I stripped mine halfway and had a hard time unscrewing it. The only thing I don't like but can live with it is that, you can't remove the key when in open position, I placed mine high enough so kids can't see and reach them but I want it open when I'm home for easy access on my pistol when I need it.

For cabinets these work as advertised, however they won't work for any of the drawers in my home. Depending on the geometry of your drawers, you may find the same thing. I have an IKEA dresser where the drawers go in flush such that if you put the trap piece as pictured on the package, the drawer won't close. If you put it somewhere far enough in that the drawer does close, there's not enough room to put your finger in to open the safety lock! In effect, if you want a drawer to be able to close, subtract double the thickness of the front of the drawer from the length of the lock, and that's what you have left to squeeze your finger in. You'd need a baby-size finger to work it! I have another dresser with a top lip that overhangs the uppermost drawer, which also doesn't leave enough room to operate the lock.

The design would work on just about any drawer *if* it were available in different lengths (or the length was adjustable), but it isn't. Caveat Emptor.

I liked these locks. They were easy to install and worked well. I had tried several other brands, and found they were a pain to install and my son could open up the cabinets! These finally worked.

This is the best Cabinet and Drawer Lock I have found, others fall apart this one is very sturdy. The removable latch feature is also a real help when the little one is not in the kitchen and you need to put away a lot of dishes.
